Craft brewing continues to go from strength to strength across the world. Therefore, craft beer market is full of different brands and consumers have difficulties to make a choice between all new unknown brands. In the second decade of the twenty-first century, you can discover craft breweries in no fewer than 74 different countries. They all try to produce flavorsome beers on a human scale and this makes orientation in this endless variation of different beer flavors quite complex. Our Esensorics software can be used to map different craft beers markets and therefore provide valuable information to beer producers and also to consumers.
Who would not like to try eight different beers for free, describe their taste profile and in the end give their subjective evaluation for the beer? Junior Chamber International Estonia team had a unique pleasant opportunity to assess different Estonian craft beers using Esensorics new sensory application “Nappl” configured for beer tasting. Beers were evaluated using napping method and described with most common beer sensory parameters to present taste profiles of different craft beers on Estonian market. Overall likeness was also assessed after evaluation of beer taste.
Taste profiles of the assessed beers can be seen on chart below. Beers taste profile chart shows that there is clear clustering according to taste. According to presented taste parameters, consumers can easily choose what kind of beer they would like to try. If they prefer hoppy beer, Põhjala virmalised IPA would be a great choice. For less intensive and more balanced taste, Karksi eripruul Hele can be chosen etc.
Junior Chamber International Estonia team also had opportunity to express their likeness. Therefore, the most liked beer by JCI Estonia can be highlighted – Karksi eripruul Hele. Of course the top three was quite evenly liked, therefore also Dead pony club California pale ale and Saku Humal and Oder was also liked.
